We took a quick trip to check out the Weihnachtsmarkt at Schloss Merode, a local castle. Brennan really liked the tractor in the parking lot.
The paths surrounding the castle were lined with torches and there were small fires here and there for warmth, (it was a really cold day) and it must be so pretty at night. We were there with the early birds, which meant we snagged great parking and were leaving by the time the crowds were arriving.
Our lunch of Reibekuchen with apple sauce, and Nudeln. Warm and tasty!
Brennan loved the free carousel.
Patrick still had room for a Wurst.
(Note: That is not Brennan about to leap into the moat, in case you were thinking we're negligent parents.)
Here are some photos of us around the house. We collected some pine cones and spruced them up to include as part of our winter centerpiece.
Isla may have sampled some paint. Now we're negligent parents.

The kids being sweet together.
Everyone wearing their caps.
Airplane ride.
Brennan took Isla on her first carousel ride at the Heinsberg Weihnachtsmarkt and was very good about making sure she stayed seated.
Isla practicing "cheese".
Trip to the playground.
