2012 So Far

Here is a recap of what we've been up to so far this year. Epiphany brought the Sternsingers to our door to recite a little poem and collect money for charity, (this year it was to help orphans and prostitutes in Belarus.) They blessed our house with a sticker on our mailbox (normally they write it in chalk but our bricks are painted white.) They humored me in posing for this photo and were very sweet.



In case you've been wondering what Isla has been up to in her Krabbelkaeffer group, here are a couple of pictures from the fall. We are making hedgehogs out of leaves in this picture, although Isla spent most of her time playing with the gluestick.

We took a recent jaunt to Thorn for Pannekoeken.







I forced Patrick to participate in some interactive sculpture art, (interactive in my mind at least), thankfully he's a good sport.

Aaand, we're done.





After a very mild fall, winter finally came to Germany. It's been freezing here! It snowed a little bit and the kids had so much fun playing and "shoveling" the sidewalk.

After three years here we happened to run out of oil on the coldest weekend ever. Patrick had just checked our tank but the gauge was apparently stuck. We had to find an oil company who could deliver same day and then put on lots of layers and wait. The delivery was pretty exciting for Brennan, as the oil tanker truck pulls up to the house and they pump it directly into your basement tank via a hose inserted through the window.





A recent weekend purchase. Sadly, we're starting to near the end of our time here and we've been making lists of things we need to do before our time is up.



Isla's Krabbelgruppe celebrated Karneval last week and she went as a tiger.
