June

Here are some June happenings.  Arts and crafts, Hudock style.

Brennan was the "top dog" reader in his 1st grade class!  This poster of Santana Moss was one of his prizes.

Kellan is now in a big boy bed!  But only because he was in danger of injuring himself while climbing out of the crib in angry resistance to bedtime and naps.  But surely he'll be so excited to be in a big bed that pre-sleep fits will no longer be a problem, right?  Right??

Hmm...

Our garden was pretty happy in June, especially that one squash plant that is bent on total garden box domination.

Brennan having a blast during Field Day.  I got to volunteer and run one of the water stations, which was so much fun.

Time for some World Cup!!  We watched as many games as we could on Fox and Telemundo, but Germany v. Norway called for a last-minute emergency Greene Turtle run.  As we were pulling into the somewhat full parking lot I wondered aloud, "Who comes to a sports bar at 4 pm on a weekday??" and Brennan answered, "People without cable."  So true.

We never EVER take electronics to restaurants, but in this instance we were "that family."

First squash!

Kellan went through a 2-day biting phase and this was the state of Isla's leg after the 2nd incident.  Needless to say, he got in huge trouble and has not bitten anyone since!

So excited to be staying up late for the World Cup!

Brennan sweetly treated his siblings to some Sweet Frog with his b-day gift cards.

Our butterfly bush finally bloomed and attracted a nice monarch.

Tornado warning!  I know that technically you're supposed to take shelter below ground and avoid windows, but we weren't in danger of an actual tornado and I liked watching the kids snuggle, even if it was in fear.

We took a trip to Tennessee with Cristina and Elena to visit Cindy and family!  This was an idyllic farm/rest stop where we had lunch on the way down.  We really enjoyed looking at the cows and feeding the geese.

On the road again.  This road trip involved a lot of technology.

We made it!

Fun in the sun in TN.

Robert and  Kellan hanging out during some down time.

Ben checking out the scene.

Chip the cat is a dog in a cat's body and really enjoys company.  He liked to be in the mix and was not deterred by excessive levels of noise and chaos.  The kids adored him.

Robert(3), Kellan(2), Ben(1), Elena(2), Isla(4), Brennan(7)

Jim supervising the fire and s'mores.

A lovely morning at the park and a picnic.

Friends by the turtle pond.

Happy friends. =)

Bedtime stories.

We had so much fun with our friends and it was such a great trip!!

Home again with Rocky.

A hike at Red Rock Overlook.

Picking black raspberries at the farm.

A very important package from Tennessee.

Blue Gaga has found his way home!  Kellan said "Now me not sad anymore."

5 miles on the W&OD.

Safety first when playing with the chemistry set!

Random farmers at Giant.  (Disclaimer:  I do love Coke Zero, but that is not my cart.)

Love following your kids as they grow. We also don't do electronics at restaurants - but it's a nice card to have in your back pocket if you need it. Same for TV! Wish we were neighbors! You guys have so much fun!
