After some extensive house hunting we finally settled on our house at the end of August. It was a bit of a stressful process but so nice to have the papers ultimately signed and the keys in our hands. Brennan and Isla got to spend lots of fun time with Grandma and Grandpa while Patrick and I found a new home for us.
The kids got to help paint Brennan's room a cheerful yellow. Isla has purple and the nursery is green.
Then came our actual move-out day. It was a little sad leaving my parents house after having spent about 5 months as roomies, but we weren't going far. The kids were excited about the rental truck (we had some furniture to move) and Brennan kept it clean for us.
We had a few unexpected free days before our shipment from Germany arrived so we decided to paint the kids rooms and get a head start on a few home improvement projects. Like installing a master bedroom fan and power washing and painting the garage to rid it of an amazingly strong cat smell (thanks Dad!)

I don't have any pictures of our shipment from Germany or the arrival of our non-temporary storage goods from Washington, but if you can picture this house filled with boxes and packing paper you'll get the idea. After four weeks we are pretty much settled, but only due to tons of help from my parents, thanks guys! Our neighbors have been super friendly and we are really excited about our fresh start here.
