Spring Break 2015!! We woke up bright and early to start our trek to Disney World! I started the trip off right by blinding my kids with the camera flash at 5am. Too bright, Mommy!
A couple hours later I got a better shot.
We made awesome time and arrived in Charleston, SC by mid-afternoon to visit Aunt Dara and Uncle Pace. We immediately stretched our legs and made good use of their neighborhood playground.
And they even supplied sand toys!
Strolling the neighborhood with Aunt Dara and Chester.
Isla and Chester relaxing together in preparation for the Duke game.
We had a great visit and the kids really enjoyed seeing where their cousins grew up!
Day 2 on the road: still excited.
Next stop: Jacksonville, FL. We stopped for lunch at the home of some very old friends of ours and had so much fun catching up! Patrick and Paul were roommates during Plebe year at the Naval Academy and were in each others weddings. Nicole and I met way back in those college days as well and it was so wonderful to get our families together. And we had pizza.
Brennan and Jackson really hit it off. Here they are having fun on Jackson's bunk bed.
Here are their dads about 15 years ago. Apparently bunk beds at the Naval Academy don't have the same fun factor. I love these two photos of the dads and sons!
Patrick helped harvest some grapefruit from the backyard.
The lovely moms and daughters!
A tired Kellan going in for the stealth hair twinkle.
Dads and babies.
It was so great to catch up and spend a wonderful afternoon with these special friends and their kiddos. After our visit and goodbyes we drove down the street to show the kids the house where Patrick, Bexar and I once lived. This stop definitely brought back a lot of good memories!
First day of Disney World, riding the parking lot tram. Kellan isn't sure yet.
First ride: It's a Small World. We tried to start with something tame and this was perfect. The kids loved it and it was really fun to try to guess each country.
Patrick took the kids on the teacups.
Are we having fun yet?
We got to meet Stitch! Before this trip Patrick and I realized that our kids really hadn't seen many Disney movies, so we tried to have a couple of movie nights ahead of time. I'm glad that we watched Lilo and Stitch because the kids were so excited to see Stitch in person.
Patrick took Brennan and Isla on the Barnstormer while Kellan pulled my hair and refused to take a nap. We had a wonderful first day at Magic Kingdom and were really able to do a lot. The kids did great with all the walking and we had so much fun!
